The Northern Knight Batch

A powerful bacteria destroyer inspired by antibacterial and anti-fungal ingredients found in the Northern hemisphere.

A trip to Montreal, Quebec, Canada, in early 2018 led us to a Farmers Market (Marché Jean Talon) and subsequently a local soap bar that would inspire our latest After-Training Soap creation - “The Northern Knight Batch” - a powerful bacteria destroyer infused with antibacterial and anti-fungal ingredients from the Northern hemisphere.

A “Maple Syrup Soap Bar” - coaxed our curiosity and further research would lead us to learning of the 54 compounds within the sweet substance containing antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties.  We’ve also added in two other sticky substances - Canadian Honey and Organic Pine Tar, whose piney scents and antiseptic properties paired well with the Pine needle oil we also sourced from Canada.  Another major ingredient in this batch is fresh Dragon’s Blood Extract - a crimson resin (lending its color to the bar) that has been used to heal wounds, both internally and externally, since the 1600’s.  We’ve also added in a 3-oil concoction of bacteria-killing Himalayan Cedar Wood, Phenol-charged Oregano, and our signature high-grade Australian Tea Tree.  A mineral-rich Alaskan Glacial Mud was then blended in to pull impurities from the skin while Marshmallow Root crumbs were infused to both moisturize and exfoliate any dead skin acquired during heavy training.  Winter is coming...

Other Active Natural Ingredients: Coconut Oil, Canadian Bee Honey, Australian Tea Tree Oil

DRAGONS BLOOD EXTRACT: The sap is rich in protective antioxidant phenols, and anti-inflammatory compounds of various kinds. Due to these compounds, Dragon's blood sap helps to protect the cells of the skin, and reduces redness and swelling. Additionally, Dragon's blood contains taspine, a known tissue-healing agent.

PINE TAR: Originating in Scandinavia, Pine tar is a sticky substance that results from burning the wood of pine trees. Research has shown it to have antibacterial and anti-fungal qualities and is useful to soothe and treat symptoms of poison ivy, oak, and sumac. It has also been used to treat skin conditions such as eczema and psoriasis.

MARSHMALLOW ROOT POWDER: Used as a healing herb for centuries, Marshmallow root is a natural skincare wonder. It contains a high percentage of mucilage, which has intensive hydrating, softening, and balancing properties.

OREGANO OIL: Oregano oil and the carvacrol it contains help to fight bacteria. Research has shown that oregano oil may be effective against types of bacteria that can become resistant to antibiotics.

HIMALAYAN CEDARWOOD OIL: One of the first essential oils ever to have been distilled, Cedarwood essential oil has antiseptic properties which can assist in treating minor wounds and skin damage. It prevents infection and toxins from entering the body. By defending the body against toxins, it relieves the white blood cells and immune system of the extra stress, which allows them to protect the internal functions.

MONTREAL MAPLE SYRUP: Like raw honey, maple syrup is full of powerful antioxidants, which can help to fight wrinkles, reduce dryness and promote healthy, vibrant skin. Also, due to high levels of manganese in maple syrup, it is great for muscle and tissue repair if you are suffering from a mild to moderate muscle injury.

ALASKAN GLACIAL MUD POWDER: A purifying mask helps draw toxins from the skin, absorb excess oils, and exfoliate dead cells. Because of its high mineral content and moisturizing effect, Alaska Glacial mud helps nourish the skin.

PINE NEEDLE OIL: The same desired properties that make pine oil essential for cleaning products are the same properties that make it great for treating skin conditions such as acne, boils, eczema, and psoriasis. Pine essential oil also contains antioxidants that help fight off wrinkle-causing free radicals and it’s incredibly antibacterial and antiseptic.
